The Horse's Axe Denison

Once you enter The Horse’s Axe you will check-in, fill out a safety waiver, and watch our Safety Video. Then our axe coach will provide instructions on the proper throwing technique and how to use our projected target system. Your group will have your purchased time to play through our different games and have an axellent time. Once your time has ended we will take your group to our photo booth for a group photo! Axe throwing is a lot of fun & we hope you will have a great time.

We highly recommend making a reservation in advance either through our website or call. We do accept walk-ins but activities are subject to availability.

Nope, but you can bring back your Horse’s Axe! Most of our guests take home an Axe (aka The Horse’s Axe). Once it’s yours you can name it, you can decorate it (handle engravings available,) and you can even put a diaper on it (we also sell axe sheaths).

Return with your Horse’s Axe every time you visit to throw at a discount.

1. You must be fully clothed (Naked people not allowed). 
2. Wear closed-toe shoes (If we can see a toe, you don’t get to throw). 

If you forget, we do have shoes that you can rent!

The Horse’s Axe welcomes all ages. For ages 7 and younger, we have a foam axe, aka a Pony Axe, for them to throw. For ages 8-12, axe coaches will determine if a child is safely able to throw an axe, if not they can throw a Pony Axe too. 

Our digital scoreboard allows everyone to keep score and play along. We want the WHOLE family to have fun, please comply with our age requirements.

Yes and yes, our number one goal is safety. We require all axe throwers to fill out our axe throwing waiver, wear closed toe shoes, and watch our Safety Video. An axe throwing coach will provide instructions on the proper throwing technique.  Each axe lane is equipped for your safety with floor mats, no-bounce back borders, end-grain targets, and floor-to-ceiling walls between each lane.

No, because we have an incredible selection of beer, wine, cider, seltzer, soda, tea and water available for purchase. Try something new or enjoy a Texas staple. We have something for everyone. Even gluten free options! 

What about food? Check with each location for their food offerings.

We have a kitchen! Grab a pizza, wings or loaded fries. Gluten free and vegetarian options are available.

Each of our axe lanes can hold up to 6 people. Each location has a set number of lanes. Larger groups can rent all lanes OR you can also rent the whole venue! check out our party and corporate events packages click here.

We strive to make The Horse’s Axe welcome to people of all abilities. Our coaches will work to make accommodations for individuals to the best of their ability. Axe throwing is an adaptable activity and is available for a wide range of people with different abilities.

No worries, broken handles happen.  If your axe breaks the day you buy it, we will replace it for free.  Once the axe leaves our facility, we can’t verify what it’s been through.  If you bring it back on another day and break it, you can always buy another one for $9.99.

The Horse’s Axe Club is a discounted throwing membership.  Buy one of our axes and you’re a member!  Return with your Horse’s Axe in the future to throw at a discount any day of the week!  Doesn’t everyone want to be a Horse’s Axe?

Book your reservation using regular pricing.  When we see your axe in store, we will apply the discount to your order.  Your Horse’s Axe is a visual coupon, meaning we have to see it…with our eyeballs!  You can also call us to make your reservation.

One axe gets One discounted thrower.  For example, if you bring a group of 4 people, one person throws at a discount.  The other three people throw at regular pricing.  If your friends buy an axe, they can be a member of the club too!  And who wouldn’t want to be a Horse’s Axe Member?  Answer: nobody.
